The new space race

In 2017, Boeing launched a campaign with the Telegraph to publicise its work as a private space contractor.

I was commissioned to put together a long-form piece about the likelihood of a piloted mission to Mars. I interviewed space scientists, engineers and astronauts to write a multimedia feature for the Telegraph website (which appeared under my house byline, Kevin Coyd).

As part of the wider campaign, I was also asked to interview some of the most senior people at Boeing: Dennis Muilenburg, chairman, president and CEO; Sir Michael Arthur, managing director of Boeing UK and Ireland; and Chris Ferguson, former Space Shuttle commander and now Boeing director.

The success of the campaign led to further work with Boeing, including another long-form piece on careers in the aerospace industry.
